Greetings visitors and friends of my DeviantArt Domain!

I send this journal entry to say that while in my period of minimal activity on DA, I keep a more regularly updated photo-journal segment on my Google+ Page. I'm not retiring from DA, it's just easier with G+ since it is built into my cell phone and is more rapidly available to post material online.

...or I'm just that one guy who continues to refuse to getting a Facebook page.

Don't judge me, it's not like I've got a Zune.

The address link is plus.google.com/u/0/+RobBraun/

"Apparently I'm popular there because people like my pictures of Gundam Models, Baby Cows, and Broken Tractor Parts!"

There you will see some in progress work of mine that I will later mirror here and in future model reviews on CollectionDX!

Builder's Journal Entry, Date AD-1-8-2014, Hahira region of planet Earth, Sol Galaxy.

I have been... Sooo.. out of date with this thing it's impossible to make excuses other than:

I've had other things to do, get done, worry about, deal with, build, shoot, and blow up. Some of it personal, a bit of it professional, and a lot of whateveritiseveryoneelseneedsbutthatsastoryforanotherday.

The Farm:

Family Farm priority. 2013 has been one Helluva Year. We've expanded our operation taking on more land to work, benefiting our cows with more edible hay. As such we've made some additions to our fleet: a new mower, a tedder, restored-to-factory-spec tractors, and a feed wagon. My truck, "The Wrecker" is going to get a breaking module installed. For the novice, that's a device that allows me to use a trailer with an installed break (like the one I'm already towing) as an anchor when I'm hauling hay. (now about that trans-luminous drive I wanted...)

Out in the hay fields, we've been in a disagreement with Mother Nature as to our schedules. What we normally cut in July, we cut in September, and so forth so stalled, but at least we made adequate amounts of rolled hay for the herd, and with our growing reach of land we should be seeing more in the year to come.

Not my fault, but it has been one of our worst years of mechanical problems since before we stopped having paid farm-hands that broke everything. A couple of blown hydraulic seals due to wear and tear are manageable fixes, but losing a whole PTO shaft to a hay mower is a completely different clusterfu...
As said a few lines ago, the tractor is fixed but that mower's dead. At least its parts are salvageable and compatible with the one I have been using. Dibs on the guide wheel!

The cows herd has grown, both in body weight, size and number. 20 years ago we started with 6, and now we're over 72. This past year alone I've had to assist/intervene/aid in the delivery of several calves and bring a couple back from the brink of malnutrition. Our hybrid calves are growing, and the two I had to bolster are fantastic replacements to our older herd.

The Building:

It has been a good year on the hobby desk, a little slower than I had planned but, nobody's perfect. Reviewed some of my best works to date on CollectionDX.com and got myself on an episode of the site's weekly YouTube TV show:

Don't mind my face. and if you're wondering what I'm doing, I was jumping between following along with to what Josh and Adam are talking about and building a pair of bazookas for the RX-78-2 Version 3.0. generalmechanics.deviantart.co…

I still say I sound better in print.

I finally sat down to count my manuals for an accurate tally on how many I've built. Without counting Kotobukiya, Tomy Zoids, and random things I think would look cool. I have officially as of this journal completed 202 Gunpla! and I have no plans of stopping.

Drawing... that's another story for another day.

So with all of that cluttering the screen, I just want to say Happy New Year to all, and wish everyone a healthy and happy start to 2014!

Stay crafting my friends.

Rob!

Wow.. Really? It's been that long since my last journal?

I'm not dead yet! I just haven't been here... technically.
Online, offline, a scrap here, a comment there. I have officially discovered the way to disappear from the Internet.

The absentee form:

Please excuse Rob (GeneralMechanics aka the infamous Robo farmer, aka Hadimus Prime, aka GunplaRob, aka Cobalt, aka Everyone's favorite exploding-from-friendly-fire Fearless Leader) for being absent from contributing something worth while to DA, he has been:

Upgrading his truck
Out farming hay
Out raising cows
Out fixing tractors
Out of his mind/Betrayed/Beaten/Broken/Rebuilt/Still kicking
Fixing other People's stuff.

And somewhere along the lines, managed to finish two model kits from over the past two years.
... and if anybody needs, I have doctor who can prove where I've been.

...oh and um... Halo 4. That is all.

Until my next cup of coffee and a bright idea!

My view counter is....... OVER 9,00.ahhh!

*SLAMS HEAD INTO DESK UNTIL THE JOKE DIES*

NO NO  NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

*THUD, uh oh...*

The following journal was written posthumously.

... now where was I? Or rather, where the [CENSORED BY SOPA, FCC, UNSC, EFSF] have I been?!

Okay. Long short story, Farm. Nuff said. Cows, hay, equipment breaking down, the usual, I call it Thursday. Details, My baby bull is now a year old and a real charmer with the ladies. I am so proud. Hay farm is waiting for the spring and then its a full tilt sprint through summer. Cattle herd as a whole is growing, even brought in some new bloodlines to mix things up a bit. Still planning on using them in goal of world domination.

Art? HAH! What? sorry, so tired and sore and lazy these days I only pick up a pencil to write a note let alone doodle.  Hobby front has taken up free time, check Prime out for full details on that. More on the way to CDX when I get down to writing/photographing and posting. Now I sit and wait to help save the Princess (literally, writing this while waiting for call to go help move a couch).

EDIT/UPDATE: The Princess is in another Castle.

So in closing, Happy New Year, I'm betting the guy in charge of the calander everyone's afraid of ran out of rocks before he could make his "Hang In There Aztecs" edition or just couldn't finish his "LOL Pumas" version. Feel free to pass that joke along, but remember I demand a Quarter every time someone says either!
